Guide: How to Quickly Initialize KBVISION IP Cameras

How can you quickly initialize a KBVISION IP camera? This is one of the questions many people ask, especially those initializing a KBVISION IP camera for the very first time.

That's why, to answer this question, today KBVISION VIETNAM would like to share how to quickly initialize KBVISION IP cameras directly on the recorder as well as on the computer software. Follow along below!

1. How to Initialize a KBVISION IP Camera Directly on the Recorder

Step 1: Go to the Main Menu -> Select Remote -> Then select Remote again.

Step 2: Select Device Search — you will now see the cameras that have not yet been initialized. To initialize quickly, tick the checkboxes at the top of the rows -> then click Initialize at the right corner of the screen.

Step 3: A window appears with the text "Using current device password and email info." If you want to use the recorder's password as the default password shared by all cameras, leave this box ticked and click Next; if we want to set a separate password for the camera, untick the box and set the password.

You can set a password that's easy for you to remember. For example: admin123

After setting the password, you set the email for password recovery in case you forget the password.

** KBVISION advises that you should set a recovery email and not skip this step.*

Step 4: In this step we assign an IP to the cameras. Then click Next.

Example: You set the IP as 110. This will be the starting IP address for the first camera; the cameras after that will take addresses from 110 onward.

Step 5: In the next step, to add cameras to the recorder, leave the tick in place and click Add. Wait a few seconds and the cameras will be added to the recorder automatically.

Step 6: Click the pencil icon to double-check the password.

2. How to Initialize a KBVISION IP Camera on a Computer

Step 1: First, open the Config Tool software and search for the camera's IP address.

For example, if there are 4 uninitialized IP cameras, you will see them sharing the same IP address, not yet initialized.

Step 2: To initialize, tick the checkboxes at the top of the rows, then click Initialize in the bottom corner and set a new password for the cameras.

Next, set the email for password recovery in case you forget the password.

Next, uncheck "auto check for update."

Wait a moment — our cameras will now initialize their passwords automatically -> click Finish. Once initialization is complete, they are no longer grayed out and show as Initialized.

Step 3: Next, proceed to change the cameras' IP addresses. Click Search setting, enter the camera's password, and click OK.

Step 4: In this step we change the IP address. Tick all the checkboxes and select Modify IP. Here you can set whatever IP you like.

If a green check mark appears, you have successfully changed the IP address -> click the refresh circle at the very top of the display window -> you can now see the IP address has been changed.

And that's it — we have successfully completed the IP camera initialization on both the recorder and the computer. This quick setup procedure saves you time, and especially with a large number of cameras, initializing them this way is extremely fast and simple.
