Today, camera usage is increasingly widespread — from homes to residential areas, in supermarkets, hospitals, schools, and on the roads. The ultimate goal is to meet security needs and make security control more effective. That goal demands truly sharp images and high transmission speeds. And to achieve that, we need a camera system operating at peak performance. In such a system, alongside the cameras, the recorder is considered one of the essential components.

Alongside the growing popularity of cameras comes the appearance of recorder models with diverse features and quality — notably the POE NVR recorder, the newest device in today's surveillance camera systems. So why should you choose this product line?

There are currently 2 types of recorders on the market: Analog recorders and IP recorders:

  • An Analog recorder is one set up and built on an Analog system, meaning it can only record from surveillance cameras that output conventional analog signals. However, the drawback of this recorder type is that data safety is not high — video images are not secured and can easily be stolen.

  • An IP recorder is built entirely on an IP platform; this line can only connect and work with IP cameras. IP recorders typically integrate far more complex features than Analog recorders (IVS, recording only when motion occurs to reduce hard drive usage). IP camera technology requires a high degree of compatibility, so mixing manufacturers may prove impossible to combine, and users need some networking knowledge. However, its outstanding advantage is that it delivers far better information security — a password is required to access it, which keeps images more secure.

Why should you choose a POE IP recorder?

A POE IP recorder is the most advanced product line available today, with POE technology. POE is the technology that allows electrical power to be transmitted directly over a network cable (RJ45) to electronic devices with an Ethernet port. With POE built into the recorder, image and audio data can be collected from the cameras at the highest quality, installation is simple, aesthetics are high, and it simultaneously minimizes power cabling for the camera system with just a single network cable.

With a POE recorder, you get sharp, high-quality images and a high-speed connection — just plug in the IP camera and it runs like an Analog system, with no network configuration required.

Although a POE IP recorder is more expensive than ordinary recorders, in return installation is easier, and labor and material costs are reduced.

Currently, there are many recorders on the market with built-in POE technology, and the product we want to introduce to you is the KBVISION POE IP recorder. It is one of the leading smart camera brands in the US, with high-tech security solutions. The POE IP recorder model we want to introduce in this article is the KX-4K8108PN2. Below are the basic features of the KX-4K8108PN2 POE IP recorder:

● 8-channel POE NVR recorder (comes with network ports — just plug in an IP camera and it runs, no camera configuration needed)

● Input: 8 IP channels with 8-channel recording at resolutions up to 8 Mp and a maximum bandwidth of 80Mbps

● Image compression standard: H265/MJPEG

● Output: VGA / HDMI

● Playback: 8 channels simultaneously

● Supports Onvif 2.4

● Supports: 1 SATA x 6TB, 2 USB 2.0

● Cloud and QR Code support: easy setup and viewing via a mobile app

● Supports: RJ45

● 8 PoE ports for the 8 channels, max 25.5W per port

● Lifetime free KBVISION.TV domain name support

● Cloud support (a server in Vietnam, powerful and stable) — just scan the QR Code: easy setup and viewing via a mobile app

● Push alarm video support to mobile devices via the KBView Pro software

● 128 simultaneous user accesses — suitable for projects such as schools, kindergartens, and so on

● Compatibility with cameras from other brands, such as: Arecont Vision, AXIS, Bosch, Brickcom, Canon, CP Plus, Dynacolor, Honeywell, Panasonic, Pelco, Samsung, Sanyo, Sony, Videosec, Vivotek, and more

Why choose the KX-4K8108PN2 POE IP recorder?

The POE IP recorder carries the H.265 image compression standard. This is an entirely new video compression standard capable of compressing twice as much as the previous standard at the same quality.

Push video alarm support to mobile devices: the motion detection and notification function — when abnormal motion is detected, the surveillance recorder automatically sends a video notification to your mobile phone via the KBView Pro app.

Cloud support is also a notable advantage: with it, you just plug in the network cable and start using it — no configuration needed, easy to set up.

SATA hard drive support up to 6TB: if the recorder has no hard drive, it still operates normally, but it loses the ability to store the important footage recorded by the cameras. So the larger the recorder's hard drive, the more data it can store. With the POE IP recorder's built-in SATA hard drive technology, transfer speeds are higher — up to 150MB/s or 300MB/s, compared with the maximum 133MB/s of earlier technology.

With such outstanding features, do you think this product line is worth buying? To get high-quality images and a strong transmission signal for your security camera system, the POE IP recorder is the best choice for your system.
